An intermediary group was selected among the organisations interviewed in each country to conduct a focus group discussion with grassroots women of their communities. Film or video emerged as the top communication tool used in the five countries combined, followed closely by radio and popular theatre. This is supported by the literature review as well, where radio emerged as the most accessible tool. The assumption has been that access to new ICTs will accelerate development.1 digital file (51 p.)enINFORMATION SOCIETYTECHNOLOGICAL CHANGETECHNOLOGY TRANSFERICTWOMEN IN DEVELOPMENTINNOVATION ADOPTIONDEVELOPMENT PLANNINGICT4DACCESS TO ICTWOMEN’S EMPOWERMENTVIDEOTHEATRERADIOINFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)FAR EAST ASIAFinal technical report : a study to examine the most effective tools of information and communication used by intermediary groups to reach grassroots women in Asia and the PacificIDRC Final Report
