The enabling environment of ICTs in the border created significant differences in women’s survival, as freedom of information, communication and mobility had been largely repressed inside their own country. This paper argues for increased opportunities for women to access and use ICTs. While use of information and communication technology allows for processes of information and communication that were previously impossible for women to attain, many are still excluded.Text1 digital file (5 p. : ill.)enGLOBALIZATIONSOCIAL EXCLUSIONCOMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGYTHAILANDBURMAICT ACCESS AND USAGEMIGRANT WORKERSDIGITAL INCLUSIONWOMEN IN DEVELOPMENTWOMEN’S EMPOWERMENTMIGRANT WOMENMYANMARFAR EAST ASIASOCIAL AND ECONOMIC IMPACTSMOBILE TECHNOLOGYICTs and its social meanings : women in the margins of Thailand (December 2010)Menguita-Feranil, Mary LuzIDRC-Related Report
