An important question arises – How to measure violence in a meaningful way? For instance the nature, context and intensity of violence is different in Ahmedabad and Kochi. A robust definition of violence is needed in terms of a framework for dealing with multiple effects in different cities. Ambiguities with regard to the definition, criteria, and boundaries that constitute Urban centres need also to be acknowledged.Text1 digital file (7 p.)application/pdfenSAFE AND INCLUSIVE CITIESSymposium on Making Cities Safe and Inclusive : Perspectives from South Asia, 21st November 2015, India Islamic Centre, New DelhiWorkshop Report
