PPVII provided technical and social information, generated interactive spaces for knowledge exchange, facilitated access to financial services, and strengthened productive value, primarily for the benefit of small-scale family enterprises. Research results contributed to participative development of a national fisheries and aquaculture law, pertinent sectorial policies, fisheries management plans, and improved fish culture protocols.
