Findings indicate that village leaders along the Zhejiang coast had little knowledge of global warming and sea-level rise. While some had a positive attitude towards adaptation to sea-level rise, most did not want to take any specific policy action. However, providing local decision makers with relevant information raises awareness of the need to act. The study recommends increased information provision, more direct financial and technical assistance from local and national governments, and improved leadership in environmental planning and risk reduction.Text1 digital file (54 p. : ill.)enENVIRONMENTAL PLANNINGLITTORAL ZONESFLOODSADAPTATION TO CHANGEPOLICY DECISIONSSEA LEVEL RISECHINAINFORMATION CAMPAIGNSCOASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENTFAR EAST ASIALOCAL LEVELAssessing the effects of information provision on policy decisions related to adaptation to sea-level rise in Zhejiang Province, ChinaIDRC Final Report
