The country has made some commendable democratic steps but the prevailing intelligence legal framework apparently does not provide for independent and specific intelligence oversight mechanisms. The only effective intelligence oversight is offered by the Agencies’ internal administration and is strongly attributed to the personal leadership style of the incumbent President.
