Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA)2010-08-202010-08-202008http://hdl.handle.net/10625/44513The ‘conflict trap’ shows that countries experiencing conflicts are likely to have further conflicts. Costs of conflict have the potential to provide policy makers and donors with information that clearly identifies areas that require attention in reconstruction, but also ensure that the actors are able to more accurately plan for reconstruction. Analyses of costs of conflicts have largely been dominated by econometric measurements to the exclusion of social, cultural and political considerations. The research identifies and describes methods of measuring two broad categories: calculations for indirect costs using the accounting method; and estimates of indirect and opportunity costs using modelling techniques.Text1 digital file (12 p. : ill.)enCONFLICTSPEACE RESEARCHCOST ANALYSISCONFLICT RESOLUTIONECONOMIC RECONSTRUCTIONECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENTRECONCILIATIONFinal technical report : the cost of conflict in the COMESA regionIDRC Final Report
