The Southern African Regional Universities Association (SARUA) conducted the study “Opening Access to Knowledge in Southern African Universities” towards identifying key constraints to access to knowledge by universities in the South African Development Community (SADC) region. Respondents expressed concern about the quality of Open Access material, particularly when it is not peer-reviewed. This was a qualitative study exploring the views, perceptions and attitudes of respondents to create a picture of their concerns and constraints in accessing and disseminating knowledge.1 digital file (38 p. : ill.)application/pdfenSURVEYSUNIVERSITIESRESEARCH CENTRESACCESS TO INFORMATIONSCHOLARLY PUBLISHINGINTELLECTUAL PROPERTYCOPYRIGHTELECTRONIC PUBLISHINGINTERNETOPEN ACCESSDIGITAL COMMONSRESEARCH CAPACITY BUILDINGDISSEMINATION OF RESEARCHOPEN RESEARCHSOUTH OF SAHARAOpening access to knowledge in Southern African universities : a report to the Southern African Regional Universities AssociationIDRC-Related Report
