Economic & Political Weekly, 52(7)2349-8846http://hdl.handle.net/10625/56690Abstract onlyIn spaces where intense violence is an every-day occurrence, the security of all residents is deeply impacted. Researchers argues that women and young girls experience this insecurity especially, and in particularly complex ways. By examining the markets of Mumbai, researchers find that women and girls are engaged in creative and active struggles, and counter the idea that they are passive victims of violence and injustice.
