dc.description.abstractThe study focuses mainly on local aspects of competition. Part I reviews the literature for Egypt on competition behavior and regulations. Part II portrays the main features of Egypt's industries pertaining to competition and links to market behavior and micro aspects of efficiency. The study uses various data sources drawn from textiles, beverages, home appliances, cement, steel, car assemblage, and pharmaceuticals, characterized as having high ratios of concentration, which is undertaken in Part III. Finally, the study undertakes an analysis of the recently promulgated competition law in Part IV.en
