The presentation provides a history of events leading to the end of telecom roaming charges. Allowing room for competition within the telecommunications industry in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania sent the dominant players in each of these markets scrambling for a response. The result of competition across borders was a significant rise in subscribers across all networks and a reduction in charges for roaming. Recommendations advocate for a review of regulations, with the aim of enhancing liberalisation to enable business innovation.en
