dc.description.abstractInformation on various foods consumed by Miao people was gathered in the Sichuan province, one of seven provinces where 8 million Miao minority nationalists have now migrated to. Sampling and nutrient analysis was limited due to financial constraints. Food groups presented with detailed information on local consumption are: Cereals and millets; Local vegetables; Local fruit; Nuts; Meats; Fish). Nutrient analysis was carried out by the Department of Food Chemistry at the National Institute of Nutrition and Food Hygiene (INFH) in Beijing. The Miao are one of the most ancient and largest nationalities of China.en
