The African Institute for Urban Management, or “IAGU” (Institut africain de gestion urbaine) hosted a team meeting who are working to improve policies for the secure and sustainable use of the Mbeubeuss landfill site in the Malika neighbourhood. Farming and livestock production are among the main economic activities in Malika, yet today they are up against numerous constraints, connected in part to the presence of the dump and land loss. Indeed, the site is a source of contamination that threatens the groundwater supply and thus, the health of the inhabitants. The article provides a brief update on activities.en
