dc.description.abstractThe research project "Expansive Soils, Kenya" is a collaborative project between the universities of Nairobi and Saskatchewan and the Materials Department of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing The project was initiated by the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Nairobi and funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) with the main objective of developing a design and construction methodology for roads on black cotton soils in Kenya...This report presents the results of the matric suction monitoring in the test site at Ahero as well as the modelling of matric suction under the pavement carried out at the University of Nairobi.en
