Abstract

The Canadian Partnerships Program (CP) was initiated as part of IDRC’s Special Initiatives Division (SID). It is unique in that it is directly responsive to proposals from Canadian researchers and actors in civil society. This in-depth analysis provides information on funding, number of projects funded (2005-2010), project themes, outputs and outcomes of the program. The wide range of relationships established by CP across the country helps keep the Centre grounded within the Canadian reality. In addition, its open-ended, flexible and responsive approach provides fertile ground for innovation. Greater clarity in terms of the CP objectives and strategies is recommended.
