Based on the rural investigation in Kaizhuo Township, Changshun County, Guizhou Province, the results show: women are more focused on the utilization and development of non-wood forest products for their families' basic needs such as fuelwood, fodder, ferns, and fruits. The men, on the other hand, give more emphasis on the utilization of commercially oriented products such as timber, coal and charcoal.en
