Open data for development (OD4D) : annual report 2017-18

Abstract

OD4D leverages a global network of regional hubs, expert advisors and global initiatives to use open data in generating greater accountability and transparency, locally-driven innovations, and better delivery of key public services in areas such as gender equality, education and health. A strategic shift in 2017 allowed the network to research and engage with emergent dialogues around data for development (Ethics, Algorithms, and Privacy rights), to support relevant development priorities and sector-specific opportunities, and to continue to act as conveners of stakeholders in government, civil society, academia and business.
