dc.description.abstractImportant decisions were made at this sub-regional workshop regarding climate change and the West African coastal zones: the setting up of an alliance of parliamentarians and local elected representatives for the protection of the environment (APPEL); the adoption of the “PRAIA declaration” on climate governance in the Regional Coastal and Marine Conservation Programme for West Africa (PRCM) and Economic Commission of Western African States (ECOWAS) countries; and the adoption of a plan of action for the monitoring and implementation of the recommendations of the PRAIA workshop.en
