dc.description.abstractThe study examines the level of usage, and contributions of mobile telephones to the growth of small business in less urban and rural areas of Ghana. The findings have policy implications for both policy makers and service providers, for developing a market that meets socio-economic needs of all subscribers. Quality and cost of service are big issues. Operators need to establish effective feedback systems to gather public perception of their services. This will provide input towards service improvement and innovation, to meet the changing needs of customers. The National Communication Authority should continue to penalize operators whose services are below required standards.en
