Abstract
The WordForge project has two major components: advocacy for localization, and bringing together the Free and Open Source software (FOSS) community to work on and/or use the infrastructure being developed by the project. The specification and development of advanced software localization tools aimed at improving the process and lowering the skills needed for Open Source software localization to help both small economies and minority languages. These tools help reduce the cost of localization while increasing its quality. A serious project to develop free standards-based localization tools, such as this one, has far more impact at driving change than a pure advocacy effort.
