Abstract

Discusses some specific determinants of peasant behaviour towards risk, and quantifies their impact on decision making for resource allocation. Research results indicate that in subsistence agriculture, peasant households are preoccupied with their security and survival and are likely to follow some safety-first behaviour in their decisions.
