Abstract:
This report is the result of an exhaustive search of the evidence about priorities, policies, and gaps in SRMHR in LAC, with a focus on the prioritized countries (Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Guatemala, Jamaica, and Guyana). Published studies and grey literature were sought. This search included an analysis of legislation, policies, programs, and projects of national and sub-national governments with main emphasis on above-mentioned highly vulnerable populations. We sought to identify the main policies implemented, the health priorities for the countries and the main gaps in health care and rights, outputs, outcomes, and impact as well as research studies and how they relate to the policies in place. This report is a description about the situation of sexual, reproductive, and maternal health and rights in LAC, focusing on some aspects in the prioritized countries (Colombia, Guatemala, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico and Perú) and is the first step to analyze the situation of each country in the Rapid Country Studies, in the third component.
