Abstract:
Previous livestock vaccine projects have largely focused on the technical aspects of vaccine development, distribution, and adoption rather than on gender issues. Gender has only been studied in a marginal fashion, for example, what are women’s perceptions or their adoption rates for the new vaccines. LVIF is now seeking to have gender as an entry point and to generate new evidence on how women can be empowered to participate and benefit from the livestock vaccine value chain in targeted countries.
