Abstract

This study examines existing practices of access and use of government data in India in order to understand challenges inherent to the National Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy (NDSAP). Positioned between two agents in the information supply chain, the “data intermediary organisation” focuses on improving access to, and use of information for its intended audience, structuring findings into a form understandable for users. Often the challenge of official government data is its analysis. It may be crucial to share analytical findings from government data as well as the collated and sanitised data itself.
