Abstract
Part of the Innovating for Maternal and Child Health in Africa (IMCHA) initiative, and partnering with Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC) which now works globally, the community health worker initiative is described in this media/ blog post. Efforts in Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Sudan and Uganda will support women’s economic empowerment through community health worker programmes, as well as to decrease the incidence of maternal and child mortality.
