Abstract
The civil registration agency in Armenia is the Civil Status Acts Registration Agency (CSARA). The Ministry of Justice is responsible for civil registration through CSARA. The police are responsible for identity management and for operating the population register. Digitization of the civil registration archives is a priority. With a large diaspora that exceeds the number of Armenian nationals residing in country, the verification of marriage records is one of the most frequently sought services. The civil registration authority has become an indispensable source of identity data for other government state-oriented services.
