Abstract
The Kingdom of Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, was officially renamed in 2018. A technical working group provides a forum for Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) systems. National coordination mechanisms have been formalized. The mechanisms are made up of two committees: The Senior Advisory Committee and the Technical Working Group. This policy brief describes the operations of the CRVS system. Since 2001, Government Computer Services (GCS) in the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology have collaborated with the Civil Registration Department to design an electronic system to capture and store civil registration records.
