Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has been disruptive of fragile and conflict-affected countries. The dual shock to public health and service delivery has amplified the vulnerabilities of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) systems. This report highlights the need for increased investments in CRVS systems in fragile contexts and outlines the challenges and opportunities in the realm of statistical capacity development and digital approaches.
