Abstract
SOPHIA Oxford is a not-for-profit partner of Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI). The SOPHIA platform focuses on employees’ life conditions, including a gender dashboard to capture gender issues. For instance, it includes questions regarding time and energy burdens of domestic chores, use of cell phones and internet access, and the different ways men and women use credit. By taking into account gender inequalities, the tools of the business multidimensional poverty index (bMPI) can better track barriers related to gender, to support businesses in implementing more inclusive action plans to reduce poverty.
