Abstract

The study aims to generate an accurate and reliable digital elevation model (DEM) for the Nile Delta. In assessing the vulnerability to inundation by sea level rise, accurate topographical maps are essential. Previous assessments of the Nile Delta utilized old source material and outdated technologies. The report reviews details of the mapping methodology and implementation. The resulting accuracy of the produced DEM will be assessed. Methodology includes data preparation, data manipulation, interpolation, and validation. The new DEM will be used in research activities undertaken by the Alexandria Research Centre for Adaptation to Climate Change (ARCA).
