Abstract
The origin, organization and other characteristics of the peasant organizations in two South Indian states are described, and attempts to understand the ecological and social structural characteristics of their emergence and course are made. The study also investigates the impact these organizations have had on certain aspects of agrarian social structure. Includes references.
