Abstract

The paper is a synthesis of research undertaken by recipients of the African Climate Change Fellowship Program (ACCFP) fellowship awards. Researchers investigated food crop production and farmer/fisher responses to climate change in Cameroon, Mali, Morocco, Tanzania and southern Africa. The report looks at projected impacts of climate change on food security, analyses farmer responses and barriers to adaptation, and concludes with some recommendations. Identifying the policy options available to address adverse effects is a first step. Agricultural extension services can provide a bridge to appropriate adaptation measures.
