Abstract

Where projects require partnerships between different actors within public and private domains, science granting councils (SGC) need to place strong emphasis on providing guidance on partnership governance. This guide begins by setting the context and explaining why issues of ownership, data sharing and balancing public interest with industry needs are important. It considers what SGCs can do, delves into confidentiality agreements, and discusses employment contracts and non-disclosure agreements. It concludes by providing SGCs with two templates: (i) sample employer – employee contract and (ii) sample non- disclosure agreement (NDA). SGCs promote collaborative research by funding multidisciplinary, multi-institutional projects
