Abstract

This template provides a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement between science granting councils (SGCs), which formalizes collaborative projects and comprises conceptualization and joint implementation of research projects and programs, trainings, exchange visits and networking. It outlines the parties covered by the agreement, with details of reporting activities, research parameters, supervision and deliverables. SGCs promote collaborative research by funding multidisciplinary, multi-institutional projects. As such, in facilitating inter-regional cooperation of researchers in different countries and parts of the world, SGCs will confront differing Intellectual Property (IP) systems, requiring formalized agreements at the outset.
