Towards effective public-private partnerships in research and innovation : a perspective for African science granting councils

Abstract

This policy brief provides an overview of the issues of public private partnerships (PPPs) in research and innovation (RI) and outlines recommendations on practices for innovation adoption within the Science Granting Councils (SGCs) and other stakeholders in sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries. The Science Granting Councils Initiative (SGCI) seeks to strengthen capacities of SGCs in Eastern, Southern, Central and West Africa in order to support research and evidence-based policies that will contribute to economic and social development.
