Abstract
This issue of the newsletter is full of stories and images of change-in-the-making. It reviews a number of conferences and forums in Canada and South Africa where girls and women presented their experiences on themes of gender-based violence, safety, identity, empowerment, cultural and sexual violence, along with interactive sessions and workshops focused on art making, networking and telling their stories. The newsletter addresses many dimensions of the culture of abuse and oppression which young women are forced to deal with.
