Abstract
The Canadian Coalition for Global Health Research (CCGHR) “Principles for Global Health Research” are gaining international recognition for their contribution to advancing a ‘Canadian’ kind of GHR that centres on equity. Participants in “Gathering Perspectives Phase 1 (GPS1) called for a unified vision for global health research, including the elaboration of a set of professional and practical standards. The objectives of the GPS2 were to: (a) engage the global health research community during a time of changing funding polices; (b) elaborate on the guiding principles; and (c) accelerate momentum from GPS1 through engaged knowledge translation with global health researchers, funding agencies, and elected officials.
