Abstract
Report on a pilot project (Project Impact) being conducted in rural areas of the Philippines and Indonesia to improve the delivery of primary education - discusses the dropout problem, role of Project Impact in community development and community relations; examines use of modules, changes in the physical layout of schools, evolution of Community Learning Centres, role of the teacher, workings of the tutorial system; includes learning and cost effectiveness comparisons.
