Abstract
Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture (MESHA) provides support to science journalists covering health, development, technology, agriculture and the environment, emphasizing rural journalism and communication. The Third African Conference of Science Journalists described how best to position science journalism in reporting science and policy as each country moves towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It provided a platform to enhance engagement between science institutions and journalists, and tackled the realities of Internet and mobile technology, in particular the increasing reliance on social media for news and information.
