Annex 12 : Green nanotechnologies to minimize post-harvest loss in perishables
Abstract
Regarding whether the hexanal based products meet the principles of green chemistry, the Enhanced Freshness Formula (EFF), developed in this project is composed of three FDA-approved molecules that are safe independently or in combination. This policy brief expands on the biosafety of EFF at various trophic levels. The homogenization process to produce EFF is simple and safe and it has been widely used in the food industry.
