Abstract

This policy brief by the International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA) presents a background summary of the hypothetical country “Rawhitia.” Regional political instability and an economic slump created fertile conditions for ethnic tensions to escalate, resulting in war. The study focuses on post-conflict reparations, particularly in the education system. Human rights lawyers as well as educational experts and social psychologists are strongly advocating for minorities’ integration in village schools, including broader educational reform to incorporate recent history into the curriculum and to enhance ethnic relations. Policy makers are invited to study the conditions and potential responses.
