Abstract:
Georgia, Ukraine and Russia have made the biggest leaps in ranking; meanwhile Poland and Macedonia show worrying backsliding. In this edition of the Open Data Barometer (ODB) newsletter, 115 countries were assessed. The regional snapshot covers 18 countries in the Western Balkans, South Caucasus, Western Commonwealth of Independent States and Central Asia. As a whole, the region has progressed and seen marked improvements in their ODB scores in recent years. However, although many countries in the region prioritize e-government and open government initiatives, they are not yet able to unlock benefits from broader open data initiatives.
