Abstract
Open Content / Open educational resources (OER) / Open Courseware are educational materials which are discoverable online and openly licensed. This presentation takes into account the dimensions of publishing and licensing of OER, with a focus on activity at the University of Cape Town (UCT, South Africa). OER can increase institutional visibility, improve recruitment, advance competitiveness, and enhance teaching coherence across courses. The OER Commons Team designs custom tools and environments to support OER networks.
