Abstract
This report helps identify the gaps and opportunities to support and scale up green agriculture, smallholder agriculture and financial inclusion. Findings from the study indicate that the goals and needs of financial institutions (FI) and farmers need to be brought into alignment to drive the transition to sustainability. The report makes recommendations for this to be achieved. Farmers need longer payback periods, lower interest rates and the provision of finance for packages that include irrigation systems, pest management and agroforestry. Global Canopy is an innovative environmental organization that targets the market forces destroying tropical forests.
