Abstract
In this thesis, the overall research goal is to evaluate the impacts of ERPs on waterrelated ES, namely soil erosion and water yield, in a semiarid region (northern Shaanxi,China), in the long-term period. To attain this goal, the specific steps are: analyse LULC changes before and after implementation of ERPs, estimate soil erosion and water yield at different temporal and spatial scales, assess the relationship between LULC change and water-related ES and the relationship between soil erosion and water yield, and finally, analyse potential impacts of ERPs on water-related ES in the future through different
conservation scenarios.
