Abstract

The ten hatcheries supported by the project are functioning well and have been successful in ensuring a local supply of fingerlings for targeted and non-targeted households in those target provinces (Prey Veng, Kampong Cham and Kampot). Establishing fish hatcheries through a cost-share model proved to be a highly successful component of the project, as they became profitable within the rogram period. This has opened the door for expansion and supports the Cambodian government’s ‘Hatchery per Commune’ and ‘Pond per Farm’ strategy.
