CIFSRF final technical report : Amazon fish for food (CIFSRF Phase 2)

Abstract

This second phase of The Amazon Fish for Food (Peces para la Vida II - PPVII) selected the fishery of paiche (Arapaima gigas), and family-based, women-led pond culture of the native fish pacu/tambaqui (Piaractus brachypomus & Colossoma macropomum) as sectors with solutions that could be scaled up effectively. The report covers programme activities, outputs and outcomes. The project involved an integrated approach and provided technical and social information, generated interactive spaces for knowledge exchange, facilitated access to financial services, and strengthened productive value chains of fisheries and fish culture, primarily for the benefit of small-scale family enterprises.
