Abstract

Policies for openness and use of data can improve accountability as well as the efficiency of judicial systems. This study focuses on the openness of judiciary branch data and its impact in Latin America (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay). Findings and recommendations are associated with communicating the lessons learned, strengthening networks, and promoting cooperation among the various stakeholders involved. It is noteworthy that as intermediaries, civil society organizations help clarify and present information to the public while reducing the necessity of technical knowledge for comprehension. Data from the three countries is analysed and compared in terms of transparency and open governance.
