Abstract

The IDRC Ecosystems and Human Health Program (EcoHealth) conducted its fourth phase between 2010-2015, completing 18 years of programming regarding the links between environment and human health. While the evaluation considered project examples from across the EcoHealth portfolio, a sub-sample of 25 research projects and 14 research support projects was selected for in-depth review. A large majority (77%) of projects reviewed were rated either as good or very good, a highly commendable outcome for any program but especially one that was focused on shifting leadership to southern researchers. Although productivity of outputs was high, refereed publications were unevenly distributed.
