dc.description.abstract The booklet “Frutos de la Tierra, collective mark for rural agroecological development” is a contribution of a partnership between AGROECO, ANPE and USAID. The history of the collective mark, legally protected by ANPE, starts with the organic fairs “Ecoferias Frutos de la tierra” conceived as a model of open markets where farmers sell their products directly to local consumers. The Ecoferias are also aimed to disseminate, inform, educate about the agroecological proposal. Together with AGROECO, ANPE took the decision to transform this service brand into a properly registered and managed collective mark for multi-­‐product use, probably the first one of its kind in Latin America, as a tool for product differentiation complementary to the not legally recognized PGS. Halfway the process, this publication describes the collective action to train, educate and sensitize the owners of the mark, ANPE PERU and its producers and their organizations, to give a good management and receive the economic benefits of Frutos de la tierra. This publication is a tool for permanent reading and education on what the collective mark is intended to contribute and how it is best administrated to achieve the multiple benefits it delivers. Commercial and development objectives are included, as well as a discussion of process milestones and the key elements of the rules of use, aiming at contributing to organic branding and product differentiation to increase sales and income as drivers of food security for agroecological peasant farmers. es
